Cobham releasing the new Explorer 510 Portable BGAN
Posted by NorthernAxcess Satellite Communications on 15th Oct 2014
Cobham has announced that they will be releasing the Explorer 510, which is the replacement to the Explorer 500 in Thrane & Thrane BGAN satellite internet terminal.
Cobham new line of Explorer BGAN satellite internet terminals are on inmarsat's new HDR system which gives these new Explorer BGAN terminals a much higher broadband speed than the previous terminals.
Cobham has already had enormous success in the media sector with the release of the Explorer 710 BGAN satellite internet terminal with its speeds of up to 750-800 kbps.
So this new Explorer 510 will be a nice in between also for media, business travelers, hikers, and more with the fact that it is much smaller, and lighter to carry, and will still allow for a quick broadband speed.
Quite possibly Cobham will release an Explorer 310 as a replacement for the Explorer 300, which we have heard is a possibility, but not confirmed. The Explorer 300 was always a popular terminal for those that wanted a very small broadband terminal. However the new Exp 510 will definitely do the trick.
For more information on the Cobham Explorer 510, or any of the other BGANs, or data terminals feel free to call and talk to one of our techs at anytime.
