Cobham Explorer 510 BGAN Satellite Internet Terminal
The Cobham Explorer BGAN 510 terminal offers a broadband connection and telephone service from anywhere in the world. This terminal features easy set-up and operation, simply connect a PC or phone, point the terminal towards a satellite using the compass and sound indicator, and you are instantly connected.
You can use the BGAN 510 as a Global Wi-Fi hotspot to have Internet connection with your laptop or smart device. This terminal is able to connect with up to 11 devices simultaneously without any configuration changes and with wireless range of 100 meters. The terminal can be placed outside, while you can be connected wirelessly indoors.

EXPLORER 510 is focused on wireless connectivity. It harnesses the power of the new EXPLORER Connect App, which turns your Android and IOS smartphones and tablets into powerful satellite communications tools. The Explorer 510 Provides simultaneous high quality voice and internet access at speeds up to 464 kbps. Streaming IP up to 128 kbps. It also supports WLAN and a USB host interface
When it comes to setting up you can be online in minutes using your own wireless devices. The USB host allows wired connections to the terminal and the optional EXPLORER LTE dongle (available in Q1 2015), so you can use local cellular if available and switch to BGAN when needed.

BGAN Cobham Explorer 510 Airtime Options
Inmarsat BGAN Prepaid Plans: Purchase a specific number of units that can be used for voice or data, that will be available for 2 years and you can reload the sim card with more units at any time.
Inmarsat BGAN Monthly Plans: Pay a monthly service fee and for the airtime you use. If you don’t use any voice or data, you will only have to pay for the monthly subscription.

System & Coverage
The Inmarsat network is also a global system and consists of 3 Geosynchronous (Stationary, or Fixed in one position) satellites set on the equator thousands of miles above the earth. Because of the fact that the satellites are GEO, or fixed satellites, which means that they do not move from their set position, whereas LEO satellites are constantly moving. This makes it so that the equipment needs to be pointed directly at the satellite to register on the network.
